Books have single-handedly changed my life. Before reading, I was unhappy and always broke. With empty pockets and an empty mind, I went to the library and checked out Stephen Covey’s, “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.

Figuring I had nothing to lose, I read through the pages and consumed all the wisdom it had to teach me. After finishing the book, things started to change. I thought differently, talked differently, and was more hopeful about the future.

I started seeing potential when most saw problems and adopted a visionary mentality. I began focusing on long-term goals like investing in myself, assets, and starting a business. Excited by this new found mindset, I started reading all the self-help books I could get.

Two years removed from reading that book, I now have an online business making me money while I sleep, and couldn’t be happier. These portable pages have shaped me into the person I am today, and would like to share these results with you. Below are my top 5 books that changed my life and I hope they do the same for you.

4. The Obstacle is the Way – Ryan Holliday

In the Obstacle is the Way, it flips around the traditional way we look at problems. Ryan Holliday’s Stoic philosophy allows you to see obstacles as opportunities rather than inconveniences. In life, we will inevitably face issues, but the way we approach them make’s a world of difference.

In this book, it demonstrates that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to them. Holliday illustrates the temperament we must adopt to overcome trials and turn them into triumph.

5. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari – Robin Sharma

In these pages, you’ll find that most of society is living in a way that doesn’t suit them. We are working jobs we don’t like for bosses we hate. Life is too short for this, and we must be responsible with the little time that we have.
