Nowadays everyone wants a mentor to hold their hands through business, relationship, and life situations. With that personal coaches have been popping up left and right. They’re here to answer our questions and show us the way.
The truth is, we’re more than capable of learning on our own if we leverage the power of the internet. For instance, Youtube is by far the most instructional medium to discover information. I have used youtube to build my online business, play the piano, and create multiple websites.
The reason why I have been able to learn so much from Youtube is that I sincerely wanted/needed to know how to make these things happen. While watching these videos, I became a sponge and absorbed all this information engraining these lessons into my work.
Gradually I became more proficient and uncovered new lessons that I implemented into my projects. With this mentality, I have been able to hone new abilities that I use to this day.
Now before you brush this off as a whiz kid bragging about his learning abilities, I just want to say that I was an average student at best. So with that in mind know that it’s possible for anyone to pick up new skills using this method.
To do this, we must first become receptive to the message by adopting a student like attitude. Doing this allows us to hone into the nuances and focus on the things that matter.
Once we become fully committed to these lessons, we’ll unlock hidden talents and transform ourselves into able students.
Youtube is also filled with life, business, and relationship advice as well. Many of the top personal development coaches like Tony Robbins and Jim Rohn have videos that will give us the information we need at no cost.
Now we don’t get the experience of a seminar or conversation, but we can still receive valuable instruction if we heed their guidance. Videos are the perfect substitute for real life interactions and are the most practical as well.
Not everyone has the money to stop what they’re doing and go to a conference or pay for a coach. So this is the closest we can get, and that’s okay. It’s not about going to a resort and listening to speakers; it’s about our personal development.
It’s about becoming better every day and feeding our mind with stimulating information. Doing what others won’t despite our situation and transforming into the best version of ourselves.
So jump on Youtube and look up that skill/advice that you’ve always wanted to learn. Who knows you might become an expert.
