Wouldn’t you like to do what you want, with who you want, whenever you want? That sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Like most people, I don’t like being told what to do, and the idea of working for someone just doesn’t sound right. I can imagine that’s the same for you.

Life’s just too short to be surrounded by people you don’t like at a place you don’t want to be. I mean if you were going to be a Sims character what would you do? Probably not slave away at a 9-5 while dealing with traffic both ways.

I have this theory that the way you play Sims is how you should play real life. After all, with such a limited time on earth, we must take advantage of these fleeting moments. Once we recognize that we don’t get this time back, we can make meaningful steps to making our dreams a reality.

No matter how big or audacious the goal, isn’t it worth the attempt? Given that the worse case scenario is that you fall on your face, would it really be that bad? Probably not. It would be an enriching experience that could be used for future reference.

Not only would you have an idea of what to do, more importantly, you would know what not to do. Using this approach we can define goals and the direction needed to achieve them.

In the Sims game, we can control every detail of our character. What it eats, where it lives, and what it does. You can customize every aspect of its world into one that makes you happy. Which is what we should all strive for.

Instead of doing what we’re told by society let’s be a bit daring. Let’s chase a dream and look for adventure. Let’s be selfish and go after what we really want. There’s nothing wrong with looking out for ourselves. If you don’t, who else will?
